ATP Hygiene monitoring: instant cleaning verification with SystemSURE
The measurement of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) on surfaces as a marker of cleanliness and risk has been well established and accepted for over 30 years and is highly recommended for food safety testing and hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) compliance.
The SystemSURE Plus and EnSURE luminometers are self-calibrating instruments that verify cleaning effectiveness and provide objective results in seconds. The luminometers are stand alone and can also be programmed with test locations, test plans, and user names to form the basis of a hygiene monitoring programme. SureTrend software analyses data and enables trend analysis.
The ATP system delivers unbeatable performance of sensitivity, precision and reproducibility when used in conjunction with the UltraSnap, AquaSnap and SuperSnap devices. Allergen testing with SuperSnap and AllerSnap gives greatest assurance
Cleaning is one of several CCP's for the management of allergen risks where the highest standards of cleaning are required. Combinations of several non-specific surface test methods for cleaning verification have been shown to give the greatest assurance with greater speed and lowest cost. High sensitivity ATP (EnSURE and SuperSnap) detects very low levels of organic residues in seconds at the point of use with results equivalent to the most sensitive ELISA tests.
High sensitivity protein tests (AllerSnap) give results in 15 minutes that are equivalent or better than some allergen dipstick tests. Lateral flow immunological tests for specific allergen (AllerFlow) give results in minutes; the sample collection and preparation device provides a convenient solution with no fuss and no mess.
Same-shift rapid bacteria test (MicroSnap) gives results in seven hours
MicroSnap detects and enumerates bacteria giving results within four to eight hours. It uses a novel patented modification of the ATP bioluminescence reaction and can detect specific bacteria at low levels in a variety of sample types. The two-step procedure has a sample collection / enrichment device and a detection device. It can be used to collect and test surface swabs samples as well as test liquid suspensions of raw materials and finished products.
Using the EnSURE luminometer MicroSnap tests are currently available for Coliforms and E. coli (complete with AOAC validation), Enterobacteriaceae and Total Viable Counts (undergoing AOAC validation). ZymoSnap and CrossCheck provide specific process indicator tests.
